The next stop from my back packing adventures in the Land Down Under was Melbourne. I heard from many of my Aussies friends that Melbourne experiences “four seasons in a day”, but I was never quite sure what that all meant. That is until I arrived and saw how quickly the weather can change within hours. I did find it odd how close Melbourne is to Sydney but still experiences much different weather conditions. Either way, it should never stop you from visiting as there is so much to do in this city as well! I met a lot of people in Melbourne during my time there. When I arrived, Melbourne was buzzing with people due to the fact that the Australia Open was on and I was also around for Australia Day. It was definitely an exciting time to be in Melbourne . My friends Eryn and Jeff took me to the most amazing tourist attraction I have ever been to. Unfortunately you weren’t allowed to bring cameras into this place but I did end up sneaking a video when no one was looking. On Philip Island there is a place called “Penguin Parade” that is home to “Little Penguins.” For anyone that doesn’t know me, PENGUINS ARE MY EVERYTHING! It an opportunity for tourist to watch from a distance Little Penguins come in from a long day at sea to bring home food for their little family. IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE! As we stood up on raised-up pathways, we could actually walk along with the penguins and WATCH THEM REUNITE WITH THEIR LOVERS. If you’re ever in Melbourne, this is an experience that you really couldn’t get anywhere else. I also did some crazy adventure hiking and rock climbing while on my Great Ocean Road tour that also took us the Grampians National Park. We hiked up a mountain and then literally had to climb on rocks to get to the top. My parents would have killed me had they known what I was up to! We later visited and climbed the “Jaws of Death” which was technically a “restricted area”, although I’m sure with a name like that there’s not much to wonder why it is restricted. I also had a mini Vietnam meet up with some of my Aussie peeps when we went to check out the Night Market at the Queen Victoria Market. So many delicious authentic food from across the world with very cool vintage clothing, art, and knick-knacks being sold there. Melbourne was pretty sweet and I made some crazy memories that I will hold onto forever. My Instagram is full of pictures from my trip! SYDNEY ADELAIDE PERTH
