Laura is a familiar face from my childhood who grew up in the same neighbourhood as me. Although we live about 2 minutes away from one another and went to same the elementary school, we never really got to know each other growing up, mostly due to the fact that we never had any classes together. But like every kid living in our neck of the woods, we shared something in common. And that was spending countless summer days bike riding and exploring Mill Pond, a local park very close to our homes.
Since Laura and her fiancé Aaron are pretty much the laid back type, it was no surprise to me that they had decided to switch their original engagement shoot location to something a little more low key. Normally, I would be a little hesitant to trust a local park to be big enough to photograph at, but Mill Pond is no ordinary park!
Okay, okay so maybe I’m a little bias here because I have so many fond memories, like biking riding through the paths or that hilariously scary time my sister rode her bike too close to a bird’s nest and got attacked. However, scrolling through these photos I think you will see how beautiful this small section of space is in our town.
It was seriously the perfect day and the perfect setting for these two. They’re just such friendly people and so easy going that something as simple as hanging out at a park is all they really need. And although Laura and I never got the chance to get to know each other back then, I’m excited that we get to now! Can’t wait to be photographing their wedding at Graydon Manor Hall this August!
