When Amy and Christian told me they met at a bookstore and would like to reflect that part of their relationship in their engagement photos, there was also another part of them that needed to be told as well. That’s when we decided that shooting in Toronto’s notorious Graffiti Alley would be a great fit in representing their relationship and personalities. We started the day at a second hand bookstore called Belfour Books on College. The store was filled from top to bottom of shelves full of interesting books on various types of subjects. These two naturally harmonize and complement each other so well that they didn’t even plan on showing up in the same blue inspired matching outfits. That’s how you know they are just made for each other!! Although it wasn’t the exact bookstore of where they met, it ended up being a great backdrop to their engagement photos and an awesome representation of how their love story began. Next we headed down to the Graffiti Alley to continue taking some more pictures. Although it was quite a bright sunny day, the weather happened to be a little more on the cooler side of spring then we would of preferred. Luckily, Amy and Christian are two great champs who braved through the cool breezes all for the sake of art!! Since these two prefer city and urban places, Graffiti Alley ended up being a perfect place to capture this side of them. Plus its always great getting to take pictures in an environment that celebrates art and talent. We later walked back up Bathurst to visit this beautiful mural located alongside Alexandria Park. That’s when Amy and Christian decided to bust out the hilariously adorable matching wedding date shirts Amy’s aunt got them for Christmas. What a fun way to wrap up an adventurous day walking around. Looking forward to seeing these two again at their wedding!
