Can’t believe how fast a year has flown by! Aimee and Brian decided to have a small intimate destination wedding with their closest friends in Jamaica last year and I was lucky enough to be a part of it. I’ve shot a couple of weddings and shoots abroad before but this was my first time at a resort and I couldn’t tell you how much tanning and relaxing I did throughout the whole trip. (It was ahhh-mmaazzing)
I brought my good friend Nathalie along with me so it was fun to be around the pool relaxing and sipping on the occasional cocktails. The actual wedding day was just as relaxed as the previous days leading up to it so the trip ended up being a very much needed break from the chaos that is wedding season.
I think my favourite part of the day was the first look that Aimee and Brian shared in a very beautiful pathway that is secluded and quite from the rest of the busy resort. First looks are one of my favourite things to photograph due to how emotional and intimate the moment is. I feel like I’m always lucky to be able to capture something so special.
The rest of the day flowed very smoothly (I love when everything is in one location, very little stress) and despite some threatening clouds that seemed like they were going to put a damper on the outdoor ceremony and reception, the weather worked in our favour and everyone had a blast!
Happy one year anniversary Aimee & Brian! Thanks again for taking me along. I think we should toooottallllyy do this again with a marriage renewal in a few years 😉
