In the heart of charming Cambridge, Ontario, this historic riverside venue originally served as a mill in the 19th century. Now, newly restored and featuring locally quarried stone, lots of natural light, and elegant exposed wood beams, the Cambridge Mill is a beautiful restaurant and wedding venue.
Boasting gorgeous riverside views overlooking the town of Cambridge, the venue’s patio made for some unbelievable sunset photos, granted by the warm and very sunny autumn day. Melanie and Alex were glowing with such a dreamy sky behind them! These sunset photos were a great way to take a moment from all of the commotion and just bask in that newlywed glow.
Right across the street from the venue sits another historic mill location, Mill Race Park. We used this lovely setting as a backdrop for their portraits. The ruins of the 19th century mill that once stood there created a classic European vibe, making it feel like we had been transported to an Italian getaway with its riverside cobblestone and panoramic views.
The two of them were so bubbly and excited for their first look, with plenty of smiles and genuine giggles. But a personal favourite shot? Melanie and her bridesmaids sported some super fun heart-shaped sunnies during the group photos, and it made for some perfectly playful moments.
With bright touches of blue hues, from powder blue to navy, and gracefully abstract floral arrangements, this Cambridge Mill wedding was refreshing and modern, and yet, still timeless. Melanie’s bridal look was so elegant, featuring a sprinkling of pearls down her veil to compliment the delicate beading on her gown.
And the stand-out good looks for this wedding didn’t stop there. Every plate setting featured personalized name plates for each guest and it was such an endearing touch. Similarly, the couple’s name was lit up in neon behind their seats.
Believe it or not, Melanie and Alex met 13 years ago at Chuck E Cheese’s, of all places! One day while Melanie was picking up her paycheck from the cheesy venue, she ran into her coworker who was enjoying a pizza with Alex. She sat down next to Alex and they’ve been inseparable ever since!
“5 stars is not nearly enough to describe how amazing Paula was to work with. Of all our wedding vendors, Paula was our absolute best decision. She was so great to work with, during both the planning process and on the day of. On our wedding day, we had a few unexpected delays and Paula handled them expertly, helping my husband and I to stay calm and keeping our bridal party on track to ensure we got all of the shots we hoped for.
Our photos came out incredible and were everything that we had hoped for and more. Paula executed every single shot that we had in our requests and we honestly could not be more happy.
Paula — a million thank you’s will never be enough. You are amazing and we cannot wait to work with you again in the future!”
Melanie and Alex are such a down-to-earth and friendly couple. Despite a few hiccups which delayed the day’s timeline, they were so fun and easygoing, which made hanging out with them my favourite part of the day! Cheers to you two!
