Emerald green, complemented with classic white florals on a sprawling golf course wedding venue with classic, gold-brushed tablescapes at the reception — this Eagles Nest Golf Club wedding is the epitome of fine art wedding photography.
Eagles Nest Golf Club Wedding
A lush landscape is the backdrop of this light-filled golf club in Ontario. The venue, with an abundance of space for over 250 guests, has oversized, arched windows with modern touches and a front entrance framed by no other than grand, wooden doors we used for the setting of our portraits.
There’s also a private, more intimate location in what they call “The Nest” — ideal for 60 guests and surrounded by no other than a wine cellar. The attached balcony overlooks Swan Lake.
As a photographer, I highly recommend taking golden hour photos at the golf course where the sun sets behind you — it’s breathtaking, and is something you don’t get at every wedding venue. You can check out more from this venue of this stunning bridal shower here!
A top-shelf wedding that started with one library book
Let’s take you back over 10 years ago to a library where Olivia and Giancarlo happened to reach for the same book. If there ever was a love story that could be turned into a movie, this is it. And that is exactly how they met, no embellishments needed.

The aesthetic? Classic white and green
Olivia considered my work to be “ethereal,” which she knew was a perfect match for her light, airy and timeless wedding style.
The velvet green tablecloths topped with overflowing white florals and golden flatware created a sensational look. Flowers also served as an archway for the ceremony which was then used as the backdrop for the head table.
An emotional first look reading handwritten letters
While attention to detail was an underlying aspect of this entire wedding, so were the emotions. Although the groom is typically much more reserved, he did get emotional during the first look.
It all took place in front of the large wooden doors at Eagles Nest Golf Club. They shared an intimate first look and then exchanged handwritten letters. This is precisely when he teared up.
Pizza break?
With a large bridal party, you sometimes have to keep things fun and interesting. So, they paused to enjoy pizza during the portrait session. (I also enjoyed a slice or two.) It’s pretty rare to have a pizza party in the middle of a wedding day, but I would vouch for more!
International travels
Giancarlo has family from Scotland, and they flew into town to be part of it all. That was incredible, especially since this wedding was one, like many others, was postponed from the pandemic.
Lifelong connections
Olivia and I have known each other since we were only 10 years old! She is one of my oldest friends so it was very sentimental and special to be photographing her wedding.
